    Practice Focus:

    Ms. Liu joined Morris Polich & Purdy after departing a San Diego firm and she specializes in the representation of long term care providers such as skilled nursing facilities, residential care facilities for the elderly and assisted living facilities.

    Ms. Liu has successfully represented the owners, operators, management companies and employees of such facilities through all stages of litigation, including arbitration and trial, in lawsuits involving claims of elder abuse, fraud, unfair business practices and violation of statutorily imposed duties, and she defends them against requests for punitive damages, civil penalties, injunctive relief and attorney’s fees. Ms. Liu also advises such facilities regarding compliance with state and federal regulations, including Title 22, OBRA and HIPAA, and provides risk management strategies to minimize the impact of civil litigation.

    Ms. Liu earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland, School of Law where she completed the requirements for her Health Law Certificate.
