Nick Wieczorek's current caseload is weighted in the defense of complex commercial contract litigation, construction risk defense, episodic losses involving substantial bodily injury, contract analysis, professional "standard of care" analysis, ADA/FHA accessibility, and risk management. Nick frequently lectures to the construction and design industries and is an active participant in the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) national Risk Management Committee. Insurance: Mr. Wieczorek consults with insurance companies, insurance professionals and claims representatives concerning insurance contract interpretation issues and insurer obligations. He has represented property and liability insurers in state and federal courts in coverage and bad faith matters arising from construction litigation, automobile and personal injury actions and professional liability claims. He has authored coverage opinions on exclusions, notice requirements, claims made coverage and professional services exclusions. He was one of two attorneys within the firm primarily responsible for the handling of the multiple lawsuits filed as a result of the 1985 Baldwin Hills fire, involving over 200 individual plaintiffs' claims and in excess of $100 million in property damage arising from that disaster.
